63. Fotinos to the main road south
Three kilometres of track and old cobbled roadway. This may have been the main route from Rethimnon to the south coast before the road was built and is still a good route for walkers and cyclists.
Leave the village square in Fotinos by the concrete track to the south-east that leads past a small church with a burial ground.
10 min. This becomes a sandy track dropping through several sandy hollows.
20 min. The track drops to the valley bottom with a concrete culvert and then climbs southwards as an old cobbled roadway.
30 min. The cobbles are more overgrown over the crest of the hill. The track now drops gently to the south and reaches the main Armeni to Spili road one kilometre north of the junction for Koxare.
50 min. Take an abandoned section of the road to the east of a small hill to avoid walking south on the main road to the
1 hr 10 min. Koxare junction.
